Picture a tree – its roots burrowing into the soil, its web of branches spreading out, the leaves providing a canopy under which lies a calming space for reflection and rejuvenation.
If you were asked to paint a portrait of that tree, what would it look like? How deep would its roots take hold? How strong and sturdy would those branches be? And, how plentiful would the leaves be?
Think of SUUS as that tree…and you are the artist who helps decide what that picture looks like.
There is a renewed vigor at SUUS: inspiring services, new members, more activities, and a dedicated staff.
We have much to be grateful for and much to nurture. Generosity of your time, spirit, and financial resources is needed to keep SUUS vibrant now and in the future.
The annual canvass is the most direct way to show your support for SUUS and our mission.
And pledges are the single largest source of the finances we need to help keep SUUS vibrant for our members and the greater community.
As you consider your pledge for the coming year, think not only about what SUUS is now but also about what lies ahead. As a welcoming congregation dedicated to Love, Faith, Justice and Reason, the Shoreline Unitarian Universalist Society‘s mission is to:
· nurture the spirit and enrich the mind;
· foster a reverence for life in all of its complexity and mystery;
· build a spiritual community dedicated to social, economic, and environmental justice;
· explore the search for truth by providing a safe space for the exchange of diverse perspectives;
· inspire members, friends, and our larger community to go forth and make the world a better place.
Your financial support is the GREEN that “paints” and sustains our loving and caring community.
